Foodcarts in Goa have been around since a long time. These carts serve quick snacks on street corners, markets squares and prominent junctions in villages and towns of Goa. Most of these foodcarts start their activity after sunset. The most sort after food items have been " ROS OMLETTE", "CUTLET PAV", "MIRCHI", "GOAN SAUSAGE BREAD",.. to name a few.
A typical village scene would be that after a football match , boys would gather around the foodcart for a quick bite of cutlet pav, ros omlette, goan choris pav.. the days events would be discussed and updates on the local issues would go around .
In the major towns of Goa, these foodcarts cater to a wider crowd. Some would catch a quick bite before rushing to catch a bus to travel home after work. The migrant labourers would have their early dinner after a hard days work. Some of the tourists tryout the local street food served at these foodcarts.
In the more recent times the foodcarts have been well designed and hygine has been looked into. The modern day young entrepreneurs invest their time and plan their foodcarts with adequate space to stock and cook. The menu has been given a wider variety to draw more crowd.
